The Most Iconic Women Leaders Shaping the Landscape in Business

The Empowering Journey of Rebecca I. Perez
Across the globe, women in leadership roles are making significant, transformative strides, characterized by diversity and strength. They are reshaping business landscapes by promoting equitable partnerships, redefining success, sharing authority, and cultivating meaningful connections at every level.
One such inspiring leader is Rebecca I. Perez. As the Founder and Editor-in-Chief of Goss Club, Rebecca has authored three bestselling books and is a certified private pilot, skydiver, scuba diver, and real estate investor. She is also a remarkable storyteller.
For this dynamic New York entrepreneur, empowerment means “leading with your most authentic voice.” She emphasizes the importance of staying true to oneself amid external influences, stating, “It’s easy to become lost in perceptions of authenticity. To remain genuine, we must delve deeper into our thoughts, passions, and essence.”
Rebecca believes that by shedding unnecessary layers, she has revealed her truest self. She exemplifies courage by taking bold actions—like launching a print magazine when many claimed print was obsolete or investing in real estate during times of market fear.
Her intuition has guided her to embrace a more fearless version of herself. “What makes me relatable to other women is my genuine curiosity for knowledge. The more I learn about myself, the more empathetic I become toward others,” she explains.
Leading Through Self-Discovery
From a young age, Rebecca embraced a mindset of independence. In fact, her first words as a child were “by myself.”
“I’ve always been driven by a desire to learn and do things independently. This characteristic has been a constant in my life, and I often felt guided by an inner voice—almost like a guardian angel,” she recalls fondly.
Her inherent confidence blossomed from a variety of talents, including singing, writing, and a keen understanding of business communication. “I’ve always exuded this natural confidence, often without realizing it until others pointed it out to me,” she reflects.
However, the loss of her parents during her teenage years profoundly affected her sense of stability. “Losing both my parents to mental illness forced me to navigate life on my own at an early age,” she shares.
Despite the challenges of her upbringing, Rebecca stepped up to care for her younger sister, committing to guide her in every way possible. This tumultuous period ignited a fierce determination within her. “I promised myself I would never let my emotions control me and that I would always remain financially independent, no matter who was in my life,” she states.
With time and extensive healing, she rebuilt her confidence. This newfound self-assurance came from within, rather than from external circumstances or validation. “I realized that, regardless of who entered or exited my life, I always had myself to rely on. This experience compelled me to explore true self-love and trust in a higher power for guidance and protection,” she explains.
The Birth of the GOSS Movement
After graduating from McGill University with a degree in Journalism and PR, Rebecca was eager to make her mark on the world.
Her role at a prominent lifestyle blog enabled her to discover her calling. “With over a million monthly views, I quickly built an audience and found my writing voice. My opinion pieces consistently received high ratings and thousands of shares,” she recounts. This success reinforced her belief in her mission to share her insights with the world.
At just 23, she launched her own platform, Goss Club, aimed at connecting and inspiring women through a shared vision of empowerment. “The term ‘Gossy’ has varied meanings for every woman engaged with our platform. To me, it symbolizes self-actualization and realizing the best version of yourself,” she explains.
Five years later, her print magazine has reached hundreds of thousands of women across diverse fields including aviation, medicine, law, architecture, business, fitness, music, and the arts, distributed throughout North America.
“We offer an open monthly membership that connects industry experts through masterclasses, live courses, and networking events, along with digital courses on emotional intelligence, entrepreneurship, and financial literacy,” she adds.
A Commitment to Excellence
As the Founder of GOSS, Rebecca oversees both the editorial and creative aspects of the magazine. “I initially took a backseat to allow my editorial team to manage interviews and content creation. Our digital marketing team handles everything from social media to broader content strategies,” she states.
Her talented team, comprising 22 members across five departments, is continuously expanding. “My focus is on broadening the brand’s product offerings and entering new markets,” she shares.
In addition to her magazine work, Rebecca is set to release three books in 2023 through different publishers: 101 Ways to BeGossy, Cash is Queen™, and BE — An Autobiography.
101 Ways to BeGossy serves as a practical guide for women in business, featuring 101 straightforward, timeless tips paired with illustrations.
Her second book, Cash is Queen™, offers essential tools for reshaping one’s mindset around wealth. “I view money as energy, carrying a specific frequency,” she explains. This book guides readers toward aligning themselves with that frequency to attract wealth.
BE — An Autobiography is a poignant memoir in which Rebecca shares her challenging experiences growing up in an abusive environment, detailing the lessons learned and the journey that led her to establish her thriving business. Each book is personally signed and includes unique insights from her childhood.
Thriving Amid Challenges
Over the years, Rebecca has built a stellar reputation within her community of leaders and readers. Nevertheless, her path was not without obstacles.
The most significant challenge for her has been learning to trust herself and to accept help. “In my younger years, I was more influenced by friends and family, who meant well but didn’t understand my vision. I made choices that could have been avoided had I listened to my inner voice,” she reflects.
She also struggled with the belief that she had to handle everything on her own. However, enlisting the right mentors and coaches has transformed her life. “Now, I recognize the importance of surrounding myself with people who can support my growth,” she notes.
When asked if she would have approached her journey differently, she responds, “Every mistake, every decision, and every emotion I faced contributed to my success—building a multimillion-dollar brand and evolving into a better version of myself.”
The Power of Intuition
To aspiring women entrepreneurs, Rebecca advises, “Stop seeking validation from those who haven’t accomplished what you aim to achieve. Trust your instincts and fully commit to your vision. You have the ability to succeed!”
She firmly believes that one’s “why” is a powerful asset. “It’s crucial to vocalize your purpose regularly so that your audience understands why they should choose you over your competitors.”
“Surround yourself with supportive individuals so you can thrive. Focus less on the finish line and more on enjoying the journey,” she adds.
A Vision for the Future
Rebecca’s overarching mission is to empower women globally to build multimillion-dollar brands. She aims to connect with three billion women, fostering a movement that transcends borders—from South Africa to India, Australia, and China.
She envisions a world where women thrive, supported by men who empower their partners to find their voices. “Our world can achieve a perfect harmony when we conquer our personal challenges and choose to be the light in the darkness,” she emphasizes.
On the business front, Goss Magazine is on a trajectory to become an eight-figure enterprise, with plans for diversification into real estate development and other industries. “We are becoming louder and more impactful with each passing month,” she says.
Additionally, she intends to launch the GOSS Foundation, a nonprofit initiative dedicated to educating women in developing countries and funding women-owned businesses by 2023.
With unwavering determination and a passionate heart, Rebecca I. Perez remains committed to inspiring, empowering, and leading through her endeavors
