Since its inception in 1994, the Central SC Alliance (CSCA) has stood as the region’s leading economic development organization, representing eight counties and the state capital through a nonprofit 501(c)(3) partnership. As a full-service economic development entity, CSCA is dedicated to attracting capital investment and creating jobs across South Carolina’s central region. To date, the organization, in collaboration with its partners, has successfully secured $21.7 billion in capital investment and generated over 86,500 new jobs.

Spanning the City of Columbia and eight counties Calhoun, Clarendon, Fairfield, Kershaw, Lexington, Newberry, Orangeburg, and Richland CSCA’s impact is far-reaching. Due to confidentiality agreements, the specific country involved cannot be disclosed; however, he recognized significant untapped opportunities within this market that had yet to be explored in the region. By leveraging detailed data mining techniques, the team was able to narrow down potential companies, carefully vet them, and engage with over 20 of these companies during on-the-ground meetings.

Recently, the organization hosted one of these companies in the region to highlight available properties and showcase the many advantages the area has to offer. Several factors have been pivotal to the success of this project, including a strategic approach to lead generation, comprehensive research, and proactive efforts to build strong relationships with key stakeholders. These efforts underscore the region’s unique strengths and position it as an attractive destination for business investment. With strong momentum behind this project and others in the pipeline, Jason is optimistic about the future and eager to see how these initiatives will contribute to the ongoing economic growth and prosperity of South Carolina’s central region.
